The university purchased 17 Xcelsior XE35 all-electric buses, replacing its former fleet of diesel buses. This shift is expected to save about 500 metric tons of carbon emissions per year, as well as reducing other air pollutants such as nitrogen oxides and particulate matter.

The electric buses recharge at a facility on Alexander Road, located two miles from the campus. This facility has eight chargers that can simultaneously charge up to 16 buses. The charging time varies depending on the number of buses sharing a charge, taking around two and a half hours for a single bus and four and a half hours for two buses.

The usual Tiger Transit routes that operate Monday to Friday do not run on game days.
